Indiana Military Family Relief Fund (MFRF): MFRF provides a budgetary grant to assist Indiana Veterans and their dependents that are experiencing fiscal hardship. This emergency grant may be used for needs such as housing, utilities, food, medical services, basic transportation (car payments, insurance, and basic emergency car repair) which have go difficult to beget. Grants have a $2,500 lifetime limit, nevertheless additional grants may be authorized in exceptional circumstances.
Who is eligible for the MFRF? Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Indiana Resident

• Received an Honorable or General, Under Honorable Conditions Discharge

• Applicant must prove genuine financial hardship, must be reflected past income, spending habits, or emergency status

• Household income cannot exceed two times the U.S. Federal Poverty Guidelines (2021).

• W9 and Direct Deposit Form, with handwritten signature (provided in the awarding)

• Authorization to Release Data grade that includes Spouse information if married (provided in the application)

• Argument letter of the alphabet signed by the Veteran, explaining in particular the hardship and what assistance is requested

• DD214 that shows the type of discharge

• Current bills, invoices, or estimates for all items requesting help with

• All pages of the most current depository financial institution statements for all accounts, showing all deposits, and withdrawals

• Statements from all financial sources, such as retirement, avails, and investment accounts

• Evidence of income for applicant and Spouse, two weeks of the near current pay stubs, VA compensation, Social Security, retirement, unemployment, etc.

• Completed Indiana Department of WorkForce Development Release of Information form for the Veteran and their Spouse, if married (provided in the application)

• Prior Twelvemonth West-2s, 1099 forms and a copy of the tax return 1040 form

• Proof of Indiana Residency, such as Driver's license, VA ID card or Indiana ID bill of fare.
