MY REVIEW
Owen was at a loss. His married woman, Maya, had died of cancer. Why was information technology her, instead of him? Later all, he is a Navy Seal and puts his life on the line every time he goes on a mission.
He was heading to his apartment when he saw an open up door. He entered to rescue the maiden, Evie, from being raped. She reminded him of Maya, and so even though they lived in the same building, he was determined to put distance between them.
Of course, it's romantic suspense, so it isn"t hard to figure out they will assemble. The thing is, Jane Blythe throws twists and turns willy nilly, so we can never exist certain how they volition get there. And and then…
Owen comes dwelling from a mission to notice Evie packed and fix to go. She is leaving him. His past came back to smack him in the confront and it was too late to come make clean. She had ever felt like second all-time. Now, she felt used, was crushed, and, until the dare came knocking at her door, she wanted zero to do with him.
She becomes a threat to the Perez Cartel and the entire Seal team knows just how deadly they can exist. They have dealt with them before. The cartel is mortiferous, dealing in kidnapping, torture, trafficking and murder, to proceed the drugs running.
Every move they make to hide and protect her, they are found. How can he keep her safe and accept a chance at winning her back?
The suspense builds and even though I accept a good thought how it will end…wink, wink…the nonstop action and danger was one wild ride. I am tired and ready for bed, but I have to know…
…and Jane Blythe has me wanting to hear Shark's story. He deserves a happy e'er later likewise. What do I encounter when I achieve the end? It is like Jane read my heed. Shark's story is side by side in line. Hoorah.

Jane Blythe is a must read author and loved the first book, Saving Ryder in the Saving Seals Series, so I was eager to begin another chance.

MY REVIEW
I desire to start about past saying, I have never rated a Jane Blythe novel below a 4. She is ane of my favorite authors, but…
Saving Eric had irritating issues for me. I loved their nicknames, only bouncing dorsum and forth between their given proper name and the nicknames were, at times, confusing to me.
Saving Eric started out nifty, a lot of action and it felt existent. Subsequently all, Seal Teams sneak in, accomplish their mission and go out of dodge every bit quietly as possible. I watch Seal Team on Television receiver religiously and love it, so to see Jane Blythe start a Seal Team series left me eager to read on. I loved the offset book, Saving Ryder, so I had high hopes for Saving Eric.
Lavendar is a runner and she runs from him…to her sis. I become that, but I got bored with the push/pull of the romance. I thought she was a potent graphic symbol, traveling the world on her own…my kind of woman. Showing no fear, but she ended up doubting everything, existence a bit wishy washy.
Saving Eric felt as if someone other the Jane Blythe wrote it. The ending was very abrupt. What saved the book was the commencement chapters. It felt real, like reading about current events. The characters were familiar and I love that about Jane Blythe's serial. Fifty-fifty though the books tin can stand solitary, she brings me up to appointment on what characters from previous books are upwardly to now. All that being said, I am eager for more than of her piece of work and only because one book didn't work for me doesn't mean the adjacent one won't. Write on Jane!

MY REVIEW
YAY!. Another fabulous romantic suspense novel by Jane Blythe, Saving Ryder, Volume I of the Saving Seals series did not disappoint. It starts out strong, keeping me chop-chop 'flipping pages'.
How Jane Blythe manages to come upwardly with a unlike twist on an oftentimes told tale, never ceases to amaze me.
What romance lover doesn't love a hunkalicious Navy Seal and a damsel in distress?
Abby and Ryder already knew each other. In fact, he had broken it off with her twice. When his team of Navy Seals are sent to rescue a group of children who had been taken hostage, Ryder found Abby, who had been missing for 14 months. Information technology was a surprise to him, but she had never given up hope that she would exist rescued.
She had suffered through months of torture and most starvation, simply even she didn't know how bad it actually was. The truth comes out slowly…and, this fourth dimension, Ryder volition be by her side every stride of the fashion. BUT, why was she taken?
Saving Ryder has all the goodies: a damsel in distress, some hunkalicious Navy Seals, mucho danger from a psychopath, and sugariness romance.
Jane Blythe creates a fabulous story with lovable and loving characters. Every time I read a book like Saving Ryder, I take to remind myself how much her writing and inventiveness give me the suspense and thrills I am looking for. After all the books I have read of hers, she nevertheless manages to surprise me and get out me wanting more than.

He's left her twice before why should she believe this fourth dimension is any different?
Abigail McNamara feels like she always has to testify herself and could never live upwardly to her family'due south expectations. Her grandfather was a SEAL, her father was a SEAL, her brother is a SEAL, and, oh aye, her brother's ridiculously hotter than hot hunkalicious best friend is also a SEAL. She's loved Ryder since she was twelve just he's cleaved her centre twice already and she's vowed she won't ever trust him once again.
Every guy knows the lawmaking you don't accept sex with your all-time friend'south little sister. If you do you don't get caught. If you fall in love with her y'all don't pause her heart. And if you earn her trust back y'all don't walk away. Unfortunately Ryder "Spider" Flynn did all that. When Abigail is abducted and help prisoner for xiv months by a sadistic sociopath that changes everything. At present all bets are off but he has to keep her live long enough to prove to her he deserves a third chance.

No Surrender by Patrick Bisher & Jon Land was not what I expected, simply and then much more than I anticipated.
The true story is disheartening and uplifting, emotions flitting through the pages like butterflies through the air, leaving me feeling like all things are possible.
This is an early on review and the book is up for preorder, releasing July 4, 2017.
This is i you won't want to miss.

MY REVIEW
Patrick Bisher'south true story is all about overcoming hardship and finding his true path in life. His determination and perseverance tin can be an inspiration to us all, giving u.s.a. promise and encouragement to dream and reach for it.
Michigan is my home state, and so knowing Patrick is a fellow Michigander made me want to know his story even more. He is an astonishing human with a story to share that we tin all walk away from being better off for knowing it.
Imagine, equally a child, a nine year old male child, hearing, "You'll never exist able to walk again." When I read that, the first idea to pop into my listen was One minor step for man, one behemothic bound for mankind.
At the end of each chapter is an inspirational summary of 'What you can learn from this.'
Patrick takes u.s. from a childhood of bullying, harassment, despair and pain, to an adulthood filled with hope and conclusion and a desire to inspire and uplift. He is dealt blow later blow, struggling to notice his way through every setback. Even when he is lost, he finds an inner strength.
Life is full of surprises and the road twists and turns, a journey we must all take, but in that location is no directly line.
Funny that he besides tasted the General Motors life and found it lacking. I worked at that place for fifteen years and took early retirement because I wanted more. It felt like a prison house to me and I had to spread my wings. Sometimes we accept to take a spring of organized religion. No risk, no advantage.
I totally hold with his final chapter and it concerns me for our state'due south futurity.
Patrick believes in Paying It Forward. His story takes us from him being bullied and labeled as a cripple who would never amount to annihilation, to being a Navy SEAL, when everyone said information technology wasn't possible, to giving back to all those who demand a picayune aid in achieving their goals and desires.
Believe…believe in yourself.
I felt then good afterward reading No Give up and I want to thank Patrick for his service to our state and his willingness to share what he has learned with all of us.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of No Surrender by Patrick Bisher & Jon Land.

Never Surrender by Corey Hart is a song I hold close to my middle.
It was an inspiration to me when I needed one and I hope it lifts you upwardly as well.
GOODREADS BLURB
A Navy SEAL who beginning overcame a crippling childhood condition then a devastating grooming accident offers his own experiences as lessons in defeating adversity.
Patrick Bisher's career equally a Navy SEAL should take ended later a parachuting accident nearly crippled him. But overcoming adversity, even an injury as serious every bit a broken hip, was zippo new for him. He'd spent a portion of his childhood in leg braces. Doctors told him he'd never walk again thanks to a degenerative hip status. He wasn't nigh to requite up then, any more than he was in the wake of that parachute training blow. Instead, he went on to serve in combat as a member of SEAL Team Seven, seeing action in Iraq and ultimately winning the Army Commendations Medal, among other awards.
Now Patrick wants to take the lessons he learned on and off the battlefield and utilise them to everyday life. He offers inspiration to all who've faced the kind of arduousness he has. In chapters fatigued directly from his own experience, he sketches a heart-wrenching tale of salvaging lifelong victories out of crushing defeats, and hope out of heartache.
From being branded a "cripple" to successfully negotiating BUD/S (Basic Underwater Sabotage/SEALS) training, from disturbing pain to heroic achievement, from devastating loss to finding his organized religion, Patrick'south story is one of discovering ways to do everything he possibly can, instead of making excuses for what he can't. An American hero who never surrendered is now sharing his lessons with those fighting their ain battles to emerge from their night places into the light and lead a meliorate, more productive life

MY REVIEW
.
I love the simple, however descriptive cover.
.
This military thriller is so realistic it pissed me off, had me screaming at the characters and fabricated we wish I could crawl through the pages and boot some terrorist butt too.
Characters: Jack, Nina, his married woman, Dewey, Jack'southward right hand, Travis, his brother and many others who act out their supporting roles. Who will exist the final estimate, jury and executioner? Who doesn't get in dorsum?
.
Jack Gunn returned home from his mission, simply to find his wife and son missing and the house covered with claret and bullet holes. He'd been in Palestine, negotiating a deal requiring the release of his biggest enemy, the last in the line of the El-Hashem family unit. A Big fault! A badal had been declared and one of them would die.
.
Jack and Travis are orphaned brothers raised by Sioux elders. One is a Navy Seal, the other a doctor.
Jack's married woman, Nina, was also raised believing in the Sioux style. I dearest the mystical connexion. The characters have an power to see, connect and talk in the spirit world. It adds that something extra that takes writing to another level. Jack is the caput of the CTF, Counterterroism Job Force, whose motto is: Terror Never Sleeps.
.
Nina suffers tremendous physical and mental torture – fear for her child, existence browbeaten, mayhap raped, kicked, drugged. They beat her down mentally and she fought the urge to give upwardly. Could it get worse? Oh yep, much worse.
.
I am appalled at Richards clarification of the corruption some of the characters would inflict on each other, only because they could. It all seems so real. When you lot read this, its virtually like hearing of the horrible killings on the news. Who would apply a man's family, his wife and child, to get revenge? Don't the bad guys accept rules besides? Non when it comes to these guys. They are pure evil. They rejoice in the torture they inflict on others. How they are able to do that, I cannot effigy out.
..
Nina is no wimp. I love her. She is an unlikely hero and I just promise I could do as well as her in a similar state of affairs. She has a shotgun in hand and uses information technology! She has survived breast cancer, then she can survive whatever this animal volition throw at her as well. At her lowest, she would think of her son and that would give her that something extra she needed to go on.
.
Seals – the aristocracy of the elite. They accept an amazing sense of correct and sacrifice. They take some fantastic weapons at their disposal, too. I loved reading about the mini plane with grenades. Good task.
Read a book like this and you, too, may believe in torture for info, and the premise, shoot beginning and accept no prisoners. This novel will tell you why in that location must be secret teams and missions, and so our enemies don't know what we are doing.
.
There is tons of action and the pacing kept me reading from beginning to end. Terrorists, dirty bombs, kidnapping, child abduction, badal, nuclear bombs and Native American mysticism. A rich combination of genres that blended then well I could well-nigh believe it was real.
.
From the shores of the Usa to Timbuktu the characters each struggle to survive and I was happy to travel with them.

EXCERPT
Chapter i
Dawley Corners, VA
"I'm scared, Mommy." Barett sat back up in bed, clutching his dinosaur pillow under i arm and his frayed security blanket nether the other. .
"Don't cry, beloved. Daddy will be home tomorrow." Nina brushed her
son'south tears bated with her fingers, cupped his tender face in her hands, and
gave him a kiss on the forehead. She inhaled the scent of baby shampoo from his
tangled wet hair and snuggled him to her chest. Barett'south Mickey Mouse
night-calorie-free cast a buttery glow across the carpet. A constellation of
fluorescent stars and planets were already glued to the ceiling of
his brand-new sleeping room and floating like luminous jellyfish in the dark to a higher place.
"Simply what if the bad guys kill Daddy?" Barett chewed on the fringe
of his blanket.
"Nobody's going to kill Daddy," Nina quickly answered for the
umpteenth time as she stroked his black hair. Barett nodded, locked on Nina's
eyes. She airtight the bedtime storybook and put it dorsum on the nightstand.
Barett'due south lower lip quivered. "What if yous die, Mommy? I heard you
and Daddy talking." He started crying once again.
Nina gasped. "You lot don't need to worry anymore, sweetie. Mommy'southward
cancer is all gone." She crossed her hands across her chest and threw them up
into the air. "Poof! And Daddy is a brave Sioux, just similar you lot." She poked
Barett in the chest. "If the president of the United States trusts Daddy to
protect his country, I don't think we need to worry."
Sorrow instantly overwhelmed Nina, sad that Barett's last thoughts
before falling asleep were to fear for his mommy'south and daddy's lives—even though
Nina frequently cried herself to sleep with those same fears. Barett, Nina's
angel throughout her chemotherapy, reached upwardly and brushed her tears away with
his baby-soft fingers as he had washed and so many times earlier.
If Jack was Nina'south soul mate, Barett was her heart mate. Nina'south
kickoff pregnancy ended horribly with a devastating and unexpected miscarrage.
Her second ended the same way. So after nine months of living on the jittery
edge of sanity, wondering what would become incorrect the 3rd time effectually, Barett was
her gift from God who miraculously joined the world on Nina's twentysixth
birthday. She loved her little carry more annihilation. She
loved Barett more than than Jack.
Trying to stay stiff and go on up a practiced front for Barett while
Jack was abroad, Nina snatched the dreamcatcher hanging from a tack in the wall
above Barett's pillow and fanned his confront with its hawkeye feathers as if she
were trying to start a burn down.
"Think, Uncle Travis had a very special medicine man make this
to protect you lot from bad dreams." She tickled his chest until he giggled.
"He's funny."
"Now go to sleep, honey. Daddy volition be home tomorrow." She leaned
over and gave him one last kiss.
Nina left his door one-half open, just how Barett liked, and went
downstairs to lock up for the nighttime. Everything in their condominium smelled
fresh and new. The paint on the walls, the shine on the floors, and the carpet
on the stairs. It was their first dwelling house and their kickoff mortgage. Nina smiled,
thinking of her husband, Jack, and how he had gone over the top to buy the virtually
expensive door and window locks.
Being a Navy SEAL and the caput of the Counterterrorism Job Force
(CTF) made it most impossible for Jack Gunn to trust anyone. The only people
he trusted were the other SEALs on his Ghost Team and Native Americans, like
Nina and him.
"I'm not going to be a prisoner in my own dwelling, Jack. Spend all
the money on locks and guns and whatever else you recall we need, but take a
look around. We're not living in Transitional islamic state of afghanistan." Nina had opened the blind so
Jack could look out and see their front yard of new sod, their one-inch elm
sapling held vertical by three posts and gardening wire, and the empty lots
beyond the street staked out for new construction. No one else had even moved
into their
building still. They had first pick in the new ocean-view community
in Dawley Corners, southward of Virginia Beach.
"This is what I've e'er wanted, Jack," Nina had told him. "I
know it'due south not Montana, but in that location's no place I'd rather be."
"The perimeter is secure," she could about hear Jack saying.
Her smile vanished every bit she pulled back a corner of the drapery and
watched a windowless console van slowly prowl past their condo. It was the blazon
of hammer-and-blast-laden van construction crews drove through their
neighborhood on a daily basis, but not after dark at nine thirty on a Sat
night.
In that location was something about the van that sent a shiver up her spine
every bit it crawled effectually the cul-de-sac and came back. She let the sheer pall
fall back into place and watched the headlights. They stopped at the end of
Nina's driveway. With a growl of the engine, smoke puffed from the tail pipage
into the chilled air. Now hiding behind the front door, she began to
hyperventilate as she fought off the suffocating feeling of panic.
Nina felt guilty for cowering like a scared footling daughter. She knew
if Jack were habitation, he would take put 1 of his patented kill looks on
his face up, stomped out the front door, and challenged the guys in the truck. He
did stuff similar that all the time. Most of the time, the other guys took off
before he got shut enough to do any impairment; he looked that intimidating. Far
from being politically correct, Jack was the human who backed downwardly to nobody. Who
feared nobody. Who suspected everybody.
Nina swallowed hard, checked the lock, and glanced upwards the stairs
to make certain Barett was still in bed. Fingers trembling, she fumbled to become her
cell telephone out of her pocket to telephone call Jack, only dropped it. Pieces of plastic
and drinking glass blasted in every direction, like a grenade exploding in the dark, when
it hit the porcelain tile.
"Oh my God!" she gasped. That was her just phone. The van still
rumbled in the street, non moving. She made out the silhouette of a
stocking-capped, bearded man in the passenger seat. Her brain swelled like an
expanding water airship between her ears.
"Think, dammit. Recall." She heard Jack's words reverberating in
her caput. It was late Sat nighttime, her phone was trashed, their habitation
Internet was not scheduled to exist activated until Monday, which had non been a
big deal because her smartphone functioned every bit a mobile hot spot for her laptop.
All that had changed the instant her telephone crashed.
Her anxiety felt as if they were stuck in cement, nailing her to the
floor backside the door.
"The gun. I've got to get the gun."
She looked through the drapery at the van one terminal time, and then
stumbled upward the stairs, went into their bedroom closet, and turned on the
light. The gun safe yet had the manufacturer's stickers on the anodized steel
door.
She dialed three numbers stuck in her head. Zippo. She tried
again. Zilch. The combination to the safety lay splayed across the entryway
flooring downstairs in a worthless prison cell telephone microchip.
A noise outside spooked her. Her fingers trembled on the dial.
She tried the lock 1 last time and prayed. "Hallelujah!" The
door opened. She grabbed the loaded shotgun. Jack always said it was the best
gun for dwelling protection. Signal the scattergun in the full general management of your
target and pull the trigger. Information technology would blow a hole in the door the size of a basketball game.
Nina had pulled the trigger on a shotgun one time earlier. She blasted
tin can cans and beer bottles with her brothers back at the reservation garbage
dump in Montana when she was a kid. The gun kicked like a mule and knocked her
on her barrel. It seemed funny at the time.
She flipped the safety off, racked a shell into the chamber,
turned off the light, and tiptoed back out of the closet. The gun went first,
with Nina's slippery finger on the trigger. Her optics dilated to adjust back to
the night.
The condo was besides new. Cypher looked familiar. Every shadow,
every racket made her jump. The furnace kicked in. The bedroom curtain fluttered
over the heat duct. She heard a noise in the hallway. Nina opened the door with
the gun barrel.
"Mommy."
"Barett. Oh my God. I nearly . . ." She covered her oral fissure,
overcome past a sudden wave of nausea. Nina swallowed hard to push button the bile back
downwards as she propped the gun upwardly confronting the wall backside the door, out of
Barett'south sight. She grabbed Barett, hugged him hard, and carried him back to
his room. "Stay in bed, honey. Mommy will be right dorsum."
Nina snatched the gun with her shaking, sweaty hands and quickly
crept back downwardly the carpeted stairs, trying her all-time to keep quiet.
The front door was yet locked. The van was gone. She held the
shotgun against her chest and stock-still her eyes on the doorknob, dreading movement
of any kind. Her heart raced equally she waited in the dark.
The wind blew. The furnace kicked off. The doorknob did nix.
She turned on the entryway low-cal and scraped together all the
pieces of her telephone.
I can't call the police. The telephone lines are downwards till Monday. I
can't call or text Jack. He'll be pissed. It was probably nothing. No demand to
get all worked up. Merely go to bed. Get a new cell telephone in the morning before
Jack gets dwelling. And put that stupid gun away earlier you shoot someone.

Nigh THE AUTHORS
Marliss Melton : My greatest blessing was to grow upwards overseas without whatsoever television set fourth dimension. Sure, I missed out on The Waltons and Sabbatum morn cartoons, but how many kids go to ride on the back of an elephant, eat candy-coated ants, visit every museum and chateaux in Paris, or track tigers in northern Thailand? As the youngest of four daughters, I had the example of my bright sisters, who read voraciously, and I bypassed Nancy Drew to read every volume in the Hardy Boys series. (That was the first indication of my fascination for male heroes). By the sixth grade, I'd discovered Victoria Holt and moved back to the United States . I wrote my beginning book—a wretched historical novel—when I was xiii. Two teenage years in Houston, Texas, saw me reading Harlequin romances and writing several more books.
I've always been an over-achiever, with so many interests it was frustrating to take to choose just i career. I could have been an opera singer—merely no. I excelled in linguistic communication and for many years taught loftier school English, Castilian, then Linguistics at the College of William and Mary, my alma mater.
Only my starting time dearest, writing romance, remained a dream for decades. I wrote throughout my twenties and early thirties, completing more manuscripts, getting really serious with agents and publishers, etc. Danger's Promise, a medieval romance, was finally published in 2002, becoming a RITA finalist for Best First Book. Since then, I've discovered that military machine romance is my all-time fit. I've been the married woman of an Army officer, who died immature, and my husband now is retired Navy.
My personal life is bluntly hectic. We have six children between the states, ranging in historic period from 8 years to 24 years quondam. Most of "the olders" however have 1 foot in the nest. But I always find time for my loyal readers, so feel free to innovate yourself to me, as I have to you.

Sharon Hamilton:Sharon's award-winning nigh-erotic Navy SEAL stories of the SEAL Brotherhood, have consistently fabricated all-time sellers lists and review sites. Her characters follow a spicy route to redemption through passion and truthful love.
Her Golden Vampires of Tuscany are not like whatever vamps you've read before, since they don't have to go to ground and can walk around in the full light of the lord's day.
Her Guardian Angels struggle with the homo charges they are sent to salvage, often escaping their vanilla world of Heaven for the cursory human 1. You won't find whatsoever of these beings in any Sunday school grade.
She lives in Sonoma County, California with her husband, and 2 Dobermans. A lifelong organic gardener, when she's not writing, she's getting vera vera dirty in the mud, or wandering Farmer's Markets looking for new Heirloom varieties of vegetables and flowers.

JM Madden : I am a married woman and mother of 2. I am a stay at home writer, which I dearly love, and I recently added the title USA Today Bestselling author to my moniker.
I was a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio for nine years, and I found myself borer that experience equally I wrote Second Fourth dimension Around, my very first book. No, I didn't tackle and cuff my husband, although at that place was that time in Thousand-mart… Anyway, it was quite a change going from writing technical reports with diagrams, witness statements, inventories, etc., that would stand up in court to writing contemporary romance. I've always written, though, and it was always a dream to practice something with that huge, leaning stack of spiral jump notebooks.
I've now published 13 books, with many more on the way. I cheers so much for taking an interest in my work!

Blood and Gilt, Book 3 in the Craige Ingram Mystery Series
by Hawk MacKinney
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB
Blood and Aureate, the 3rd book in The Craige Ingram Mystery Series, once once more tests the instincts and skills of retired Navy SEAL/part-time private investigator Craige Ingram. Lust, greed, torso parts and unrestrained wild sex parties are what await Craige Ingram when he leaves the comforts of his South Carolina home to visit his former SEAL buddy, Detective Spinner Krespinak. Gear up in the Colorado underbelly of a sordid sable and false glitz ski mecca, Detective Spinner Krespinak suspects drugs have made their way to the snowy playground that is Aspen. An Olympic ski hopeful is brutally murdered, Spinner vanishes, and Craige Ingram is shot as events spin out of control with a Take hold of-22 no one anticipates.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT
Spinner'southward high mount, ski slope bronzed hand ruffled through his hair. He flipped another page, "That's the tertiary one, counting the other mismatched trunk parts as ane and two." Frowned. "There'southward not much more here than with the others." Handed Craige Loopy's prelims. "Take a look at those…lemme know what you think." Krespinak chocolate-brown eyes bayoneted the bluish stick-'em pasted to the center of his monitor, "…mm…interesting phone memo. Seems Hizzoner the Mayor is concerned. Wants to keep the lid on. Claims he doesn't desire to scare away business. Existent fact behind his fume-an'-fuss is all well-nigh non wanting to scare away votes in the upcoming elections. Media's already nosing around about this morning'due south torch chore—that ought to rattle his cage. Stroking a yancy pol doesn't gripe me, only if he was serious we could use some boosted personnel pavement pounding for answers."
Ferron said, "Loopy said she hadn't gotten the terminal results on the mitochondrial DNA runs. Merely from what she's seen so far, she said it doesn't look like this latest 1 fifty-fifty comes close to a match with any of the previous body parts. Time of death is iffy every bit well. If the body was left exterior in the subfreezing temps, Loopy said it could stretch the time interval. Her all-time estimate is within a week or 2 of the others. Only difference this fourth dimension, nosotros have a whole body."
Craige asked Ferron, "When did the first one testify up?"
Ferron thought for a moment, asked Spinner, "When did nosotros go the offset one? A little over ii months agone?"
"Something like that…date'southward logged in the case file," Spinner said. "What bothers me well-nigh is non what we have, only what we don't have. Along with no IDs and no statewide missing person reports, there's not fifty-fifty a close to a lucifer to any of the age ranges Loopy suggested."
"You call up the killings are random?" Craige said.
"No—I don't think they're random. But I'm ane of the few who feels that way." Spinner thought of the grisly pieces in the morgue cooler. He didn't like prowling for motives. Liked it less their coming up empty with damn few answers. Sure didn't similar the doubts gnawing his innards. "I'm stuck at which came first—chicken or the egg quandary. Which victims were intentional targets? Which ones might've just been in the way; killed to make sure there were no awkward inconvenient witnesses. If they are series killings, we're not seeing any time-blueprint between kills. There has to be a reason for the times between each victim, and why are we finding simply pieces?"

The cover lured me in and the blurb finished me off.
What's not to dear about an ex-Navy Seal and PI, assassination and Armageddon?
The excerpt makes me think of a scene on Bones, the TV show that is based on real-life forensic anthropologist, Kathy Reichs.
The haunting encompass screams of bad things to come.
BLURB
Investigating an unlikely murder, Ex-SEAL and role time PI Craige Ingram discovers an officially sanctioned assassination. His investigation chop-chop stirs beyond the muddied backrooms of the nation'due south capital with more killings beyond Europe and the Heart East. The dead woman is somehow connected to stolen artifacts from a time before Babylon. As he probes manifestly unconnected clues, he locks horns with an enigmatic enticing hole-and-corner amanuensis with her own agenda and her ain mode of doing things. Craige faces train wrecks and deadly assassins doing business with a rich mercenary selling biotoxins, rare stamps, mortiferous nervus gases, and smuggled nuclear fabric to the highest bidder. As Craige peels away at the shadowyOperationNymrod, he finds an elusive power-hungry expressionless-set mind – a driven obsession with a frightful armory of bioweapons ready to fulfill ancient prophecies with a very personal Armageddon that makes the monstrous last twenty-four hours of the twin towers of the Earth Merchandise Center pale in possibilities.

Excerpt
On the 2nd-flooring landing I spotted familiar faces from the section's forensic squad. The smell was worse within. With that kickoff look I didn't need to be told that the pulpy lump with swollen pumpkin dimples where eyes should have been was one very bloated expressionless trunk. The corpse was well into being recycled. It no longer looked human. The body had been cooking in the sweltering oven of a Dixie mid-Baronial scorching summertime in this dreary ane-flight walkup of apartments with no Air-conditioning and painted-shut windows. Most the peeling pigment entrance and a worse kitchenette beyond I spotted Greyness huddled with just over five feet plus, roly-poly Coroner-Medical Examiner Fred Dinkins.
"What you got?" I asked.
Gray indolently heaved a getting-paunchier fried chicken and beer belly and idly mumbled, "We're not quite sure…." threw me that MacGerald we-got-trouble look. "Right at present all I know for sure is, it's no run-of-the-mill homicide."
In that location was more in his expect than his words. Information technology was all over his face that things weren't going the style he liked. I'd known that from the moment I asunder from his call. He wouldn't have made the call for a squabble between drifters over street drugs or a grocery cart of scrounged throwaway clothes. When a corpse is curtained, long term or otherwise and left to rot, decomposition can alter forensic evidence until it tells other stories—but non usually ones you want to hear. Dinkins had his work cut out for him and his crew. Information technology's one way perps buy themselves time, and darkening unremarkably ways there's considerable more that went down. In my wildest nighttime-stalks I could never've imagined how right-on-the-money that would testify to be. Ignorance is bliss…our SEAL team learned existent quick. It can also go y'all killed.
Without looking up Dinkins said, "One more pitiable devil that died solitary." Piercing blueish eyes peered over his always-present black wire-rim glasses perched unsteadily on the end of his nose. In low-fundamental measured words, "Prelim exam leads me to believe the corpse is female, but nosotros'll wait till we get the body to the morgue, meet what the dissection and lab tests tell us. I don't desire whatsoever second guessing the testify. As well, we're about finished upwardly here."
The dreary apartment was busier than it'd seen in decades with double shifts of the forensic techs bustling-sorting the whens and hows of death. The cracker box kitchen adjoined a corner next-to-naught squalid dinette area furnished with a dirty Masonite wobbly tabular array barely large enough for two. In the front room the melon-round, no-neck caput squatted foursquare on the bloated breast of the oozing corpse. The whole misshapen inhuman mess had sagged into the soggy sofa.
